Woburn Aikido is pleased to announce that we are now offering a weekly yoga class. Yoga is method of training the mind and body through the use of physical postures or “asanas,” controlled breathing, relaxation, and meditation. It can have extraordinary benefits in the development of balance, strength, flexibility, body-awareness, relaxation, and a calm and focused mind.
Yoga is an excellent compliment to Aikido or other martial arts, but this class is open to anyone and all are welcome. The instructors will work with each student to ensure that they are challenged in a way that is appropriate to their ability and which respects their physical limits.
Woburn Aikido will be bringing in a selection of different yoga instructors for this class, to allow exploration of a variety of schools and approaches to yoga. Both yoga and Aikido provide different perspectives from which to explore our bodies and expand our limits, and this spirit of experimentation will inspire the evolution of this class.
The last class of our introductory yoga series was held on Wednesday, September 29th. Please contact the dojo if you are interested in our future yoga classes.
